mmm croque-monsieur

didn’t get to eat this enough tootin’ around with trav so decided to make it at home.
it’s a simple street food. ham, gruyere, butter…mmmm…
Heat the oven to 400 degrees
Butter the slices and toast for a few minutes on a baking sheet.
Take the sheet out. Spread mustard on two of the slices. Layer on the ham and some grated gruyere and top it off with the remaining slices. Heartily sprinkle more gruyere all over the top and get close to the edges so it melts down the sides mmmm…
Place back in the oven and bake for about 4 minutes, then change it to a broiler
